Strongest THC Isn’t Sole Factor For Best Medical Cannabis
Strongest Cannabis Potency
Measuring strongest Cannabis potency only by THC percentage isn’t the best approach to determining what is the best or most effective medicinal Cannabis in treating an illness. It’s human nature to be focused on the biggest numbers, which we in turn believe equals best results.
However, strongest or most THC per volume doesn’t equate to the best Peace Naturals product. There’s plenty more happening in our Cannabis varieties than just their THC per volume.
The Cannabis plant is comprised of some 480 natural compounds with sixty-six compounds classified as active ingredients; such as THC, CBD, CBG, CBC and CBN.
Combined with potentially 103 different types of terpenes, there’s much more to Peace Naturals medical Cannabis than just the most THC per volume. One of the most common questions our Client Care Representatives receive is, “What product has the most THC?”.
Imagine walking into a car dealership and purchasing a car simply because it’s the fastest. Many more considerations go into a car purchase than just how fast it’s capable of going. Or accepting physical health as optimal because someone is the strongest. There’s much more to having Whole Health than physical strength and a fast car will only remain the fastest until someone comes along and builds an even faster one.
Whole plant medical Cannabis includes all Cannabinoids and terpene profiles. We make terpene profiles available to our clients because some people attribute terpenes to an aromatherapy like sensation.
Health Canada’s Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations require all licensed producers in Canada to test their product before retailing to their clients. Unfortunately there’s nothing in the regulations standardizing how licensed producers are to test their products or a requirement to make all this information public.
Since the early sixties researchers and consumers have focused on one compound, THC. Today there are many unfounded media reports claiming Cannabis is more potent than yesteryear because of increasing THC percentages. Historical data relating to THC potency is badly skewed by methodologies employed, making it useless as a historical marker.
The federal government has been testing marijuana potency for more than 40 years, and has long acknowledged the limitations to its methodologies. The Atlantic Monthly Was Marijuana Really Less Potent In The 1960s
Recent changes in Cannabis laws both in the US and Canada have allowed a more accurate picture to be painted regarding Cannabis potency. Colorado’s legal recreational Cannabis marketplace has an average strongest Cannabis potency of 17.1 percent, according to a state report. However, there are some spikes in potency in the high to mid 20 percent range.
“Anyone getting a reading over 25, it’s really hard to do. And then it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to quote-unquote get higher. There’s a lot of things that go into the plant.” The Atlantic Monthly Was Marijuana Really Less Potent In The 1960s.
Finding a medical Cannabis variety that will make your life a little better doesn’t simply revolve around which product has the most amount of THC in it. There are many factors to consider when it comes determining strongest Cannabis potency. NEST will continue to explore this topic in the coming months to dispel medical cannabis potency myths.
